Christian Craighead/Obi Wan Nairobi’s L119A2 with EOtech 552 and disruptive paint job

It’s not like this is the first open source pic of what’s assessed to be an EOtech 552 on an L119A2. I think that honour goes to the LBT pic – which incidentally is assessed to show a relatively current build:

Presumably from a few years back, Obi Wan Nairobi/Christian Craighead’s EOtech pic appeared on Instagram at the end of December 2020.

It depicts an old gen 552, indicated by the teardrop shaped hood aperture on the side (good spot JD).

It’s interesting that Obi Wan seems to favour optics with a circle dot reticule. The Romeo4T and Romeo8T are both associated with him and each feature a selection of four reticules – two of which are circle dot.

Assuming that there’s an object – a mount or rail cover – on the picatinny stub near the receiver, it seems certain that we’re not looking at an L119A1.

With a view of the ejection port area it’s a fairly safe ID, because the A2 is significantly different in this area when compared to the A1.

The paint job is notable. It’s hard to make out the pattern with the resolution we’re working with – not to mention the filters – but it’s properly disruptive, as all good camouflage should be; and probably took some time and effort.
