Ahhhhhh – tanodize!

A piquant ensemble of RS and HAO parts, which marks the receipt today of a couple of samples; HAO’s G-Style Super Precision-MK6 Scope Mount 30mm, and their G-style Super Precision T1 Mount – both in DDC, or Desert Dirt Colour.

Both are very tasty, and it just so happens I have the RS version of the latter.

But which is which?

If you know which is which and you look very closely, yes, you can tell them apart. But HAO as usual is making things very close indeed.

The T1 Mount is my favourite of the two because I really like the ano tone (more than my RS one, actually, although it has to be said that there’s variation in the real ones) and because it’s of use to me. I’m a big fan of Aimpoint Micro style optics like the T1, T2 and Sig Sauer Romeo 4T; all of which the mount fits, as well as any other optic with an Aimpoint Micro footprint (various Vortex and Holosun models, and the CompM5). Not only that, but this model is lower third co-witness – my favoured height.

Like the original it’s composed of 7075T6 aluminium and has been machined from a single block of billet. The relief for the battery cap/intensity adjustment has been EDM wire cut.

The second mount is one for the short dot crowd, and I’m pretty sure a few of the elite Vortex Razor users will be looking closely at what HAO is coming out with.

This one is the middle height. The company tells me the more extreme 1.93 height is on the to do list.

Again, like the original it’s composed of 7075T6 aluminium and has been machined from a single block of billet.
