I don’t often feature non-PTW builds, but PTW owners do not have a monopoly on paradigm shifting style, nor do they have a monopoly on artistic talent.
I’ve been following this build for a while, because it’s very much a modern adaptive carbine. The owner, Ryan, is a friend of mine, who I play airsoft with. Just don’t get him started on GM crops and airliner vapour trails 😉
The gun is built on a Systema Revolution gearbox and it’s the sort of build I could accidentally pick up and think was one of my own – I feel that at home with the aesthetic.
Anyway, build aside, the paint job is absolutely awesome! It’s Kryptek influenced, but because the design has been reinterpreted by Ryan, it’s earned the name ‘Rytek’. The design has taken some time and was back breakingly precise and intricate – but the proof is in the pudding, as you can see.
For me, the big advantage of doing this sort of design using rattle cans is the way it will mutate and change with wear and tear. I can’t wait to see how it weathers.
As for the process, I’ll let the pics speak for themselves…
