Remember the Vario Ray that couldn’t be 100% ID’d?
I spotted a few pics earlier on Baller Tactical which appear to fill that very gap: described there as a “Rheinmetall VTAL Mk2 Base Unit.”
There’s no inference that this has been issued widely to UKSF; we simply don’t know if the LA5 has been replaced or not. The likelihood, perhaps, is that the one depicted is a trial unit? Hard to say.
But it does seem to answer the niggling Egypt video-specific question that many have had for a while.
