After paying out for an Aimpoint H2, I decided I wanted a decent mount. I’ve always wanted a LaRue lower third Aimpoint Micro mount, but they used to be really difficult to source.
My goto optic mount brand is American Defense Manufacturing (ADM). ADM utilises a really flexible quick detach (QD) system, which will sit straight on pretty much any rail; a real advantage in the off-spec world of airsoft.
LaRue’s QD can be a bit of a pig on off-spec rails, but I’m prepared to put up with it for the look. This particular mount (LT660) features in a fair few in the wild pics.
Packaging is fairly simple and contains installation instructions, hex bolts, Allen key, a spanner for the nut on the QD mount and some blue threadlock:
I’ve grown to love that trepidation I get when I receive a new RS product. Will I be able to see and feel that it’s better made than something which cost half the price?
I’ve never owned an RS product that’s disappointed and this one is no exception. Even though it’s basically a chunk of anodised metal, it’s well implemented and looks and feels quality.
As for the title above, this mount is lower third cowitness. This means that with BUIS in the up position, they fall in the lower third portion of the sight picture.
So, I have QD covered. At the other end of the spectrum, I’d really like to get my hands on one of these beauties…
