I saw this blaster a few months back and I was really impressed. A couple of the Cobalt guys rocked up at my local for a cheeky walk-on game (they are all hardcore mil simmers) and I got to handle the beast.
Andy reckons his gat looks clean, but I can tell you it looks as hard used as any abused Kryloned blaster does – accessorised with authentic rust and chipping paint.
Over to Andy for the intel:
“So this is my MARSOC inspired Block II M4A1, built 3-4 months ago as an update to my USMC GI themed PTW. It was built to be as sturdy as possible, so an RS Daniel Defence RIS II (from Arc Precision) and SGT upper and lower were chosen as the foundation.”
“There are two set ups that I use on ops: one assault orientated and the other for a recce/DMR type role. I tend to run with the former, however, I love the look of the Block II/Nightforce combination.”
“I absolutely love the paint jobs on some of the other blasters that have been posted on The Reptile House Blog, but none of the MARSOC guys really seem to attack their weapons with Krylon in the same manner as other branches of SOCOM; hence why it looks clean.”
“Am planning on leaving it as is and just letting it weather naturally, although I’m the guy in the group who falls over everything in sight so – it may well do that organically! Also everyone I play with has painted their PTW, so thought I’d be a little bit different.”
“Things to buy: Real Steel LMT SOPMOD stock, ATPIAL.”
