I slept on it, I took some expert advice and I decided the YHM front BUIS was wrong for the SOF build because it just didn’t rock.
Technically correct just wasn’t enough. Thanks to the guys on Gray Fox for their patience on this one and for providing me with evidence that Troy BUIS are trending with SOF. The extra pics provided were invaluable and I’ve posted them below.
I suppose it stands to reason that arguably the finest battle sights in existence are used by the finest warfighters. Ideally I’d still love a KAC taupe front sight, but given that I already have an RS Troy sight to use, the KAC is a long way down the to do list.
It’s also a happy coincidence that the Troy sight is a lot lighter than the all-steel YHM one it’s replacing.
I’ve invented a new category for this kind of event: ‘U-turn’.
