I decided to buy a coin case, so I could better organise loose change – rather than have it destroy yet more pocket linings. Having never bought one before, I consulted Metropolitan EDC King, Rob, who furnished me with a comprehensive set of links.

The Ashdown Workshop’s Coin Case in Cashew looked the best and the colour was perfect. I’m glad I chose it. Handmade to order, it arrived within the ten business day turnaround quoted on the company’s website.

I’m really impressed with the presentation. The item came boxed. Within the box was a drawstring bag, made of natural fibres. Within the bag was the coin case. Within the coin case was a penny (dated 1946) and a note to say the penny conveyed luck. Not only that, but the invoice had a handwritten note on it. Customer service category well earned.

The coin case is so nice, I now want one of their wallets. I went with the cashew colour because this will darken and mature with use – like my Muji wallet, which is on its last legs.
