The second can of Humbrol Dark Brown 29 arrived today, so I was able to dust the lower. Forty five minutes to mask the electronics and gears, then a mere five minutes rattle time.
I used Frog Tape to mask the lower, which was recommended to me by Stu of Project PTW. It worked nicely.
I’ve matched the lower with my RIS II upper, for the initial pics. I’ll use this combination until I get the lower nicely worn in, then I’ll stick the SMR upper on. Both together, newly sprayed, would look far too beige. So maybe ‘less’ is actually too much, at the moment.
The Hogue grip is already losing paint, which is great. The best bit was finally covering over the silver-grey of the LMT buffer tube. I think this is what Systema attempted to clone with their shiny silver buffer. Whilst I appreciate the LMT buffer is a good choice for an SOF-influenced blaster, I’d go with a generic black RS buffer given the choice again.
