Last week I took a first look at FCC’s new Tango Down style grip – modded for use with the OEM Systema motor base plate by Project PTW. Today I made a visual comparison between the FCC grip and G&P’s version.

I’m really quite surprised these grips are so different. The initial pic of the RS Tango Down B16 grip below is from Gear Scout’s excellent “21 AR Grips compared” article of 2012.

A bit of blind testing, but you can scroll to the bottom to find out which grip is which…

Have you decided which you think is best? In the pics where both grips are featured, the FCC grip is on the left and the G&P grip is on the right. In the solo pics, the FCC grip features first.

To me, the FCC grip looks most authentic. The border of the grip’s stippling is more distinct and the flare at the back of the grip looks more accurate, amongst other details. In the hand, prior to fitting, the FCC grip is also more comfortable – because of the gentle flare.

Make up your own mind…

Next stage will be fit.
